Where the season starts.
Southampton is the busiest village we drive and the one where timing punishes you hardest. From late June the pattern is fixed: arrivals Thursday and Friday, departures Sunday, and a stretch of August where County Road 39 stops being a road.
We set departure times from the day and the season, not the distance. Our cars are parked here, so a short-notice call is usually a yes.
